Hey AI Family! Enjoy todays round up of AI developments.

In Today’s AI Report:

  • 🔑 The White House Initiative: A “Fact Sheet”

  • 🛩 Chat GPT’s World Tour: Sam Altman in London

  • 📉 Twitter Spaces Issue: Presidential campaign troubles

  • 💎 4 AI Tools 4 You: Handpicked and tested 4 You

Yesterday, The Biden-Harris Administration announced their new efforts to “advance the research, development, and deployment of responsible artificial intelligence (AI) that protects individuals’ rights and safety and delivers results for the American people.”

There are three main takeaways.

  • An updated roadmap to focus federal investments in AI research and development (R&D).

  • A new request for public input on critical AI issues.

  • A new report on the risks and opportunities related to AI in education.

In addition, a listening session will occur to discuss the use of automated technologies for workplace surveillance, monitoring, and management. Overall, I think this is headed in a great direction. Let’s see how things play out.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman made a speech at University College London yesterday as part of his global tour. He addressed the potential impacts of AI and discussed the company's plans. Chat GPT is now committed to preventing misinformation. After the innocent yesterday.

Interestingly enough, Altman stressed the importance of not over regulating AI, as it is still a developing technology. I think there is an extremely fine line between over and under regulation. I hope governments will be able to perform the balancing act.

This is after Open AI announced that they will leave the E.U if there is any “real” regulation… This is completely contradictory to his earlier approach; last week, Reddit called Sam Altman a villain. I think his villain title is becoming more prevalent. Show Results.

Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis’ planned to announce his official presidential campaign on Twitter yesterday but faced technical issues. It was held on Twitter’s audio streaming feature “Twitter Spaces,” but it was extremely delayed up to 25 minutes.

It was possible that Twitter Spaces could have malfunctioned due to the number of people that tuned in to hear the official announcement. It was an unfortunate turn of events, and other candidates took their opportunity to pounce.

“His collar is too big!”

Biden on Twitter

Hopefully, Elon can figure out how to rectify the issues and prevent them from happening again.

Daily Definition

AI Agent

An "AI Agent", in its simplest sense, is like a virtual entity that observes its environment, makes decisions, and takes actions to achieve its predetermined goals. If you've ever wondered how a self-driving car decides when to brake or how your personal voice assistant understands and responds to your commands, you've seen AI agents at work.

Imagine a robot playing a game of chess. The chessboard is its environment, the pieces and their positions are what it observes, the decisions involve choosing which move to make, and the action is the actual move it makes on the board. The goal could be to win the game. This entire process exemplifies an AI Agent.
