🍎 Apple is Working on AppleGPT

Big Takeaway: Apple is doing research to create AI chatbots that can run efficiently on iPhones, even when they have limited memory.

• The researchers found a way to minimize the amount of data that needs to be moved from flash storage to RAM when running a chatbot. This makes advanced chatbots much more usable on iPhones and devices without a lot of memory.

• Apple also published research on generating 3D animated avatars using standard 2D video. Normally, you need video from multiple camera angles to make a realistic 3D avatar. But Apple figured out how to do it using just a short video clip from an iPhone camera.

• The 3D avatar research could be useful for Apple's Vision Pro and virtual try-on of clothes. It could scan your body with the iPhone camera and generate a 3D model that then "tries on" different outfits.

⌨️ 18-year-old who leaked GTA 6 gets sentenced

Arion Kurtaj, an 18-year-old hacker from Oxford who was responsible for leaking the GTA 6 trailer is being sentenced to life in a hospital prison. He managed to hack Rockstar Games, the company behind GTA 6, with an Amazon Firestick, his hotel TV and a phone 🤯. (Full article here)
